New Addition in The Heights | A Photo Tour

I’m excited to share a year-long project with previous clients who brought me back to help with their second-story addition. Collaborating with their architect, I optimized cabinetry, selected materials, sourced furnishings, and styled their expanded home. Here’s a room-by-room look at the transformation:

Primary Bedroom
The downstairs primary bedroom was relocated to the front of the house, creating a serene retreat for my clients. They wanted a soft, clean aesthetic with a modern farmhouse vibe. The result is a relaxing space filled with warmth and simplicity.

Primary Bathroom
Designed to make the most of its long layout, the primary bathroom offers plenty of storage to keep the counters clean and uncluttered. A soothing palette of soft greys and whites enhances the sense of calm while maintaining a refreshing and timeless feel.

Living Room
We reimagined the living room by rearranging furniture to complement the new stair wall, as the back door was reconfigured. A mix of original and new pieces, paired with earth-toned accents, created a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels both familiar and fresh.

Powder Bathroom
This new addition was an opportunity to have a little fun! Bold black, gold, and grey wallpaper bring drama and personality to the space.

Kitchen
The kitchen received a light refresh with new tile, countertops, paint, and cabinet doors. We also added a pantry cabinet to enhance functionality.

Pool Changing Area
A dedicated pool changing area was designed with rich navy-blue tile, giving it a cozy and stylish vibe.

Upstairs
The newly added second floor features a landing area where the kids can relax and watch TV. Their bedrooms, bathroom, and closets were also part of the expansion, providing plenty of room for the family to grow and thrive.

It has been such a joy to work with this family again and play a part in transforming their home. Seeing their excitement and satisfaction with the finished space makes it all worthwhile!

Kind words from my client:

Working with Marker Girl was better than I could’ve imagined. I hit it off immediately with Karen, and she was able to bring my vision to life. As a working mom of 2 kids, it was very important that everything we had was functional but still aesthetically pleasing. Karen knocked it out of the park. She’s so easy to work with, very responsive, and just a great person overall. I can’t recommend her enough.
